Little girl on swing outside

POEMS BY JAMES FARWELL: 10 haiku about remaining present with mindful compassion

I.

The good and the bad
are determined by our thoughts,
our feelings follow.

II.

On my movie screen,
I acknowledge passing thoughts,
I remain present.

III.

Returning from pain,
reconnecting with Essence,
we smile and rejoice.

IV.

Being present, now,
watching reactions approach,
not taking the bait.

V.

Living life, trusting,
life’s flow leads me to the Now,
awareness guides us.

VI.

A new day arrives,
opportunities abound,
moment by moment.

VII.

What is, is what is,
embrace what is, let it be.
Give yourself a hug.

VIII.

Acknowledgment heals,
anger destroys, love restores,
our hugs seal the deal.

IX.

Living in presence,
expressing compassion, love,
joyful fulfillment.

X.

When others feel pain,
be compassionate and kind,
all of us struggle.
