Dental problems can worsen quickly if ignored, so recognizing warning signs is essential. One of the most common signals is persistent tooth pain that does not go away, especially if it becomes sharp or throbbing. Swollen or bleeding gums may indicate gum disease, which can lead to tooth loss if untreated. Bad breath that continues despite proper brushing and flossing is another red flag of infection or decay.

Sensitivity to hot, cold, or sweet foods can also suggest enamel damage or cavities. If you notice loose teeth as an adult, it is a serious sign that requires urgent attention. Mouth sores that do not heal within two weeks should not be ignored either.

Finally, swelling in the jaw or face can indicate a severe dental infection that may spread if not treated. Visiting a dentist promptly when these symptoms appear can prevent complications and protect your overall oral health.
