I’ve been using a VPN here and there, mostly when I’m traveling or connecting through public Wi-Fi, but I still don’t fully understand how well it hides your real location. For example, sometimes websites still seem to recognize where I am, even with it turned on. That made me wonder if a VPN actually hides your location completely or just partially changes what others can see. Has anyone noticed the same thing?

From my experience, a VPN can mask your real IP address and make it look like you’re in a different place, but it’s not a perfect disguise. Some apps and websites can still use other signals, like GPS on your phone or browser data, to estimate your location. I started paying more attention to this after trying different setups and even tested a few apps after installing through something like Toggle VPN download . What I found is that it works well for basic location changes, but if you want more consistency, you need to check device settings too, not just rely on the VPN alone.

It’s interesting how many different factors affect how we appear online. Things like device permissions, app settings, and even how accounts are used can influence what information is visible. A lot of people are starting to realize that privacy isn’t just one tool, but a combination of small adjustments that work together.
