Of the nearly twenty percent of global worker that telecommute, nearly ten percent work from home every day.

43 percent of employees surveyed said they work remotely more often than two to three years ago.

Of all teleworkers worldwide, 84 percent telework at least once per month.

In the United States

As of 2010, 26.2 million Americans, nearly 20 percent of the U.S. adult working population telework.

Seventy-seven percent of companies with more than 2,500 employees allow remote working

Out of 684,000 federal employees deemed eligible for telework, twenty-four percent are currently teleworking

The perks

89 percent of polled respondents consider the opportunity to work remotely as 1 of 3 main perks (along with salary and reputation).

Out of 950 tech professionals polled, just over 1/3 of them would accept a 10 percent pay cut if they could work from home full-time.

Of people who work at home, forty-three percent admit to watching a movie or TV while they’re “working.”

Of people who work at home, twenty percent admit to playing video games while they are “working.”

13 out of 14 common workplace problems occur more frequently when employees are in different locations

Use of computer security monitoring programs will rise from fewer than 10 percent now to 60 percent by 2015.
