POEMS BY K.D. AEREY: Tidepooling, Perceptions

Last updated: January 26th, 2019

Tidepooling

Like strobe lights
blinking
in the shallow
rumpled
pool of water
the footprints lost
in mud
as jealous water
rushes back
to fill the gap
left by things
that don’t belong.

Perceptions

Summer sunsets burn, but,
winter sunsets bow,
slipping imperceptibly into
the twilight glitter that
suddenly
bursts in to constellations
cut from the night’s fabric.
