CO-PUBLISHER With expansion on the horizon in 2010, The Mindful Word is looking for a co-publisher to share the editorial and management responsibilities. This work at home position is 70% editorial (writing, blogging and editing) and 30% management (volunteer coordination, marketing and promotion). After a three month trial period, this volunteer position has the potential to provide some pay. Other opportunities at that point include directing other areas of the collective. Future opportunities will be discussed by phone. Responsibilities: Along with the other publisher you’ll manage the editorial group as they produce content for the print and web editions of the magazine. Another major responsibility is soliciting writers by putting out calls for submission and marketing The Mindful Word. You will also have the opportunity to write and edit articles. Requirements: - a demonstrated ability to work independently - excellent writing and communication skills - some editing knowledge - experience working or volunteering with a non-profit organization - an ability to manage diverse responsibilities and stay organized - experience in human resources and management would be helpful The co-publisher works with a great deal of independence. Though the other publisher will provide training and be available for regular consultations, to realize success the successful applicant must be self-motivated, organized and have a strong sense of initiative. WEB EDITOR Responsibilities:
Working with the editorial staff you’ll be responsible for updating the website’s content on a weekly basis. You will look after the story planning, assigning, sourcing and editing of articles as well as uploading the content through the website’s content management system. There will also be opportunities to write articles and blog for The Mindful Word. Requirements:
- Good communication, writing, organizational and basic word processing skills
- Some editing knowledge
- Strong sense of initiative Internship description:

CIRCULATION MANAGER Responsibilities:
As Circulation Manager you’ll have the opportunity to plan and execute the circulation strategy for this new magazine. Specific tasks include: developing a subscriptions promotion plan to increase circulation sales, promote the magazine and website; managing the subscriber database; and liaising with like-minded communities. Requirements:
- Some experience or knowledge of paid/controlled circulation
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to work independently
Internship description:
- Unpaid

- Minimum four month commitment, 15 hours/month
