DREAM
Hi Aneta,
This is one of a series of dreams I’ve had about getting my wisdom teeth out, a procedure that has already occurred. Anyhow, I’m sitting in the dentist’s chair, and I’ve already had the freezing, but the doctor never shows up, for hours, even though they tell me that he’s coming several times. My mother is also hanging around waiting to drive me home. There’s lightning flashing outside the tall building (seems like a hospital, even though my real procedure took place at a clinic), and we’re informed that a fire occurred on another floor, which the doctor is helping take care of in some way, but he’ll be up soon. He never ends up coming to do the surgery and I end up leaving, in pajamas for some reason, after which I go visit a store that sells both novels and makeup. Someone I know who works at the library is the clerk. I buy a couple of cheap nail polishes.

INTERPRETATION
Hello Erica,
If I were to pick one word to summarize your dream, I would pick the word “expansion”. This is a dream about you expanding your consciousness and means in which you assimilate knowledge. Teeth help us process food and symbolize a tool for processing knowledge. Lightning symbolizes sudden realization of awareness. And then we have fire, which symbolizes growth. There is also your mother present who symbolizes a Superconscious aspect of you. The doctor is an inner healing aspect within you.
Once we take a closer look, this dream tells us that a day prior to having it you were realizing that there were some adjustments needed to the ways in which you assimilate knowledge. The adjustments are not being made since the doctor did not show up to tend to your teeth.
In parallel, you are having a sense of sudden awareness (lightening) which causes expansion (fire). The doctor, the healing aspect of you, does then tend to that expansion. The presence of your mother denotes that you do rely on taking guidance and direction from your Superconscious mind, the highest level of your inner awareness.
Painting of the nails is very important as well. Your subconscious mind is asking you to pay attention to purpose (hands) for all that you are a part of.
APPLICATION
The message here is that you are going through an expansion and you are tending to it and yet you need to upgrade the tools you use to assimilate that expansion. An example might be taking on a lot of responsibilities at work or in personal life. You might enjoy being exposed to all these new areas of learning, yet shortly thereafter you might recognize that you do not have all the skills or tools needed to handle all that you have taken on.
If it were my dream, I would re-evaluate all the activities that I have been engaging in making sure that I set clear purpose for each one them—knowing why I am doing what I am doing. The “why” has to do with the inner benefit that you will retain within your soul, your consciousness. A quality that you will intentionally set to build within. Through doing so you will develop permanent understandings which you will be able to call upon throughout your entire existence.
