LONG DISTANCE ATTUNEMENT: Q&A on long distance energy healing

Last updated: November 13th, 2018

Part two of an interview on attunement with attunement teacher Lindell Green (read part one here)

A lot of people are skeptical about long distance energy work. Can you tell me how long distance attunement works?

My answer is going to address my experience rather than address the skepticism because skepticism immediately stops the process. No matter how sincere or how conscious the attunement practitioner is, to whatever degree there’s skepticism that will be the reality of that experience.

A person has to make a conscious decision to connect. They need to have an inner trust that since others are experiencing something, that over time he or she will too. I’ve been doing attunement for a long, long time now and in my early years I probably spent three to five years where I didn’t hardly feel anything tangibly—either emotionally or physically—during an attunement process. But I did have an inner knowing that something good was going on. It’ll be unique for every person.

The word attunement itself means “at one ment” with spirit. Spirit is universal. As that experience deepens in a person, there’s an ever expanding realization that at one ment includes all things. Not just people, but animals and trees and carrots. There is this shared one ment. We’ve all heard about being at one. That’s actually the case. My experience with long distance attunement is that it doesn’t matter if it’s between you in India and me in Colorado. That distance has absolutely no relevance because being at one is being at one.

Here’s an example in practice. If someone in New York City hears about long distance attunement and they call me up, I would give them their options. One is the World Blessing (Thursdays at 11 a.m. Mountain Standard Time) where a number of people meet in our sanctuary and many other people around the world come together both in groups and individually to offer a connected blessing, specifically to the world at large. We also have a group here at the Ranch that meets in our sanctuary every Wednesday and Friday mornings at 8:30 in which a small group read through a list of people who have asked to be included in that long distance attunement time.

If they hear about me or somebody else at the Ranch and they want to have a direct connection, we would arrange a specific time and at that time they can count on me to send an attunement to them. There are a number of different ways to deliver a long distance attunement. I would probably be sitting in a chair in my home and would send the attunement to them at that specific time.

Also, it could just be something that I carry in my consciousness, which is probably the way it’s done the most. An example of that is holding a piece of paper with the person’s name, where they live, age and things like that, which focus my thinking on that person.

There are other examples where I get a call from someone that says, “Hey, my mother-in-law is going to have surgery. Now I don’t know the mother, but I know the person who called me and I can make that connection through the person I do know to the person who had the surgery. I often try to get as specific as possible. For example,  your mother is in Philadelphia and she’s going to have surgery next Monday at 7 in the morning at St. Peters Hospital. She’s 57 years old and her doctor’s name is Dr. Clark and the head nurse is going to be Mary Jones. Any additional information that I can get about a person seems to add to the possibility of a heightened energetic connection with that person.

A lot of attunement is about circumstances, since they are directly influenced by people. It’s possible, and valuable, to just simply hold an attitude of attunement for a healing of climate change. We’re in the midst of a presidential election here in the U.S., which seem to bring out the worst in people. Every day, in one form or another I send out an attunement blessing for the greatest good to come out of this election process.

I realize attunement is different, but they’ve done studies on acupuncture, which is also a form of energy work, and have found that it even works on skeptics. So how is it different then?

I would highly suspect that if they were to do that same kind of test with people who were enthusiastically positive about acupuncture, the results would have been greater. And there’s a big difference between these two examples. There’s a physical component to acupuncture. Needles get stuck in the body and those needles are touching meridians and energetic fields in the body directly.

So if a skeptic goes for an attunement do you believe they’ll feel something?

I don’t know if they’ll show anything, but they will be affected. It’s important to differentiate between what we could say the mechanics of the attunement and the invitation into an energetic of an attunement.

Someone new to attunement may have in their consciousness that I’m going to do something to them. And the reality is that I’m going to direct energy through their endocrine glands with an intention to bless. But the big difference is that I have no opinion or wish to demand and manipulate a certain result. We use a phrase in the practice of attunement: “Let love radiate without concern for results.” So if you came in with a bad knee I’m not immediately going to focus my intention on fixing your bad knee. My intention is to vibrationally invite what’s highest in you to share in what’s highest in me. And in my agreement with that which is highest in you is the opportunity to heal that knee as well as anything else that might need to be blessed. But I’m not trying to cause spirit to work in some certain way. That is the fundamental difference between a mental or scientific approach to healing.

Does the person receiving the attunement lie down or how does it work on their end?

We might discuss that a bit. They could certainly lie down or sit in a chair. What’s particularly valuable in increasing the potency of a long distance attunement, or even a hands-on attunement, is feedback, or response. Attunement is a two-way street. My intention is to connect with that which is highest in you from what is highest in me. So it’s important to offer feedback, to offer response. It could be a little email that says I was with you from 9 until 9:20 and frankly I didn’t feel a thing. Or wow, that was cool or anywhere in between. Whatever the reality is.

Life works according to the one law. That one law is radiation. In this example, I’m a source of radiation to the person receiving. There is response, which is the invitation for the person to give feedback. Because in that process of radiation and response there is attraction, which deepens our connection in spirit and provides a greater understanding that the world we live in is beyond the physical and of the heaven.

How long does an attunement usually last?

Twenty minutes is what we do here at Sunrise, more for scheduling purposes than anything else. A lot of people would like attunements and twenty minutes is a good time to go through the full process of connection with the seven endocrine glands that we work with as the energetic contact points, but an attunement can be a split second. For example, I’m sitting here in my living room looking out the window. If a child happened to come by on their bike and took a tumble I could instantly send them an attunement. I might then walk out of my house, look at the child and find out that he has a broken leg and then the attunement would involve staying with the child for the next three hours as we go to the hospital and he gets his leg set and he’s back with his mother.

When a friend called me to let me know about another friend that fell off a bike, I immediately wrote his name on a piece of paper and put it in my breast pocket. I try to always have a breast pocket on my shirts. The fact that it’s in my pocket, it’s in my consciousness, and never leaves me. I’m consciously holding the person and their circumstance. When I reach into my pocket to check my to do list for the day, right there are the names of people I’m holding in that particular instance.

How did you get into long distance attunement?

I would say it came natural to me. I don’t remember any certain stage or circumstance that came to me where I said, “Oh I think I’d like to do that.” I just found in myself a desire to be a blessing in this world as I found myself beginning to say, “Oh, I’m sorry to hear that your mother is ill,” then writing the name down.

Does long distance attunement work for everyone?

I can’t think of any circumstance where the possibility isn’t present for everyone.
